Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
Your car breaks down on a highway at night, and you cannot move it off the road. Which lights must the car show to other drivers?
Correct answer: A white or amber light to the front and a red light to the rear, each visible from 500 feet
Why
Always try first to move a disabled car completely off the main part of the road. If you cannot, turn on the parking lights or the hazard warning lights, and use other warning devices if you have them. The aim is that approaching drivers see the stopped car early enough to slow down and go around it.
