Passing target: 80% (20/25)
On a four-lane divided highway, you are driving at the speed limit in the left lane. The right lane is open, and faster traffic is coming up behind you. What should you do?
A travels in the left lane with B approaching from behind. The right lane is clear.
Correct answer: Move back to the right lane, because the left lane is for passing
Why
Keeping the left lane free for passing cuts down on weaving and on passing on the right, which the guide calls risky because the other driver may not see you. RSMo 304.015 makes keeping right a legal duty on any road with two or more lanes in your direction, not just a courtesy. After you pass, return to the right when you can see the passed vehicle in your rearview mirror.
