Freeways & High-Speed RoadsStandalone practice
You are towing a heavy trailer at 45 mph on a two-lane highway with a posted 60 mph limit. A long line of cars has built up behind you. What should you do?
Correct answer: Pull over at a safe place, such as a turnout, and let the cars pass
Why
Going much slower than other traffic can be as risky as speeding, because vehicles bunch up and drivers take chances to get by. RSMo 304.011 forbids a speed so slow that it impedes the normal flow of traffic, except when the lower speed is needed for safe operation. The safe answer is to keep your safe speed and let the line pass at a safe pull-off.
