Freeways & High-Speed RoadsStandalone practice
On a two-lane road with one lane in each direction, a driver is following you very closely. What should you do?
B follows closely behind A on a two-lane road. The opposing lane and road ahead are clear.
Correct answer: When the road ahead is clear, ease off the gas so the driver can pass
Why
You cannot control the gap behind you, but you can make it easier for a tailgater to leave. Keep a steady speed and signal early before you slow or turn. On a road with a right lane, move over; on a two-lane road, give the driver a clear place to pass by slowing gently. If the driver starts to pass, stay in your lane and do not speed up.
