Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You want to move into the lane on your left on a multi-lane road. What should you do before you move over?
A is in the right lane while B is slightly behind in the lane to A’s left.
Correct answer: Signal, check your mirrors, and glance over your left shoulder.
Why
Montana law allows a lane change only after the driver has made sure that it can be done safely, and requires a signal. On a road with three or more lanes, also check the far lane, because a driver there may move into the same space. Remember that motorcycles and bicycles are harder to see than cars.
