You are stopped at a stop sign, waiting to turn onto a through road. A motorcycle is coming toward your road from the left with its right turn signal flashing. What should you do?
A waits at a STOP sign on a side street. A motorcycle approaches from A’s left on the through road; a card states that its right turn signal is flashing.
Correct answer: Wait until the motorcycle actually starts to turn before you pull out
Why
Never assume another driver will give you space or turn just because a signal is on; the driver may plan to turn past you or may have forgotten to cancel the signal. This happens often with motorcycles, because many motorcycle signals do not cancel on their own. After stopping at a stop sign, Montana law requires you to yield to vehicles on the through road that are close enough to be a hazard.
