Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You are on a two-lane road marked with two solid yellow center lines. A car ahead is going 10 mph below the limit, and the oncoming lane looks clear for a long way. What do the lines mean for you?
A follows B on a two-lane road with two solid yellow center lines. The opposing lane is empty in the visible distance.
Correct answer: No passing in either direction; stay behind the car on your side.
Why
Double solid yellow lines mark the center of a two-way road and mean that drivers in both directions must not cross them to pass. You may cross them only to turn left into or out of an alley, private road or driveway, or to get around an obstruction, unless signs prohibit it. If a slow vehicle holds you up, stay back and wait for a place where passing is legal and safe.
