Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You approach a single-lane roundabout. A pedestrian is in the crosswalk at your entry, and a car is already circling toward your entry from your left. What should you do?
A approaches a single-lane roundabout with a pedestrian on the entry crosswalk. B is circulating toward that entry from A’s left.
Correct answer: Yield to the pedestrian and to the circling car, then enter when there is a safe gap.
Why
In a Nebraska roundabout, traffic moves one way, counterclockwise, around the center island. Slow to the posted advisory speed as you approach. The crosswalk comes before the yield line, so check it first and then look left for circling traffic. When you leave the roundabout, you also yield to pedestrians and bicyclists in the exit crosswalk.
