Passing target: 80% (20/25)
On a two-lane highway, you are behind a slow car and the oncoming lane is clear. A crossroad intersection is about 80 feet ahead. May you pass?
A follows a slower car on a two-lane highway. A crossroad is about 80 feet ahead and the oncoming lane is visibly clear.
Correct answer: No; passing is not allowed within 100 feet of an intersection.
Why
Nebraska prohibits passing, or driving to the left of the center line, when you are within 100 feet of an intersection or a railroad crossing. The car ahead may turn left into your path, and vehicles may pull out from the crossroad without expecting a car in the oncoming lane. Wait until you are past the intersection and the road ahead is clear.
