You are driving on a two-way street with two lanes in each direction. You plan to turn right at the next intersection onto a street of the same kind. How should you make the turn?
A approaches a right turn in the curb lane of a two-way street with two lanes in each direction. The receiving street also has two lanes each way.
Correct answer: Stay close to the right curb and turn into the lane nearest the right curb.
Why
Get into the right lane well before the turn, signal, and slow down. Check for pedestrians in the crosswalk and bicyclists on your right before you turn. Keeping close to the curb makes your path clear to others and stops other vehicles from moving in on your right side. The turning diagrams in the manual show a right turn from the right lane into the right lane.
