Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You are passing a slower car on a two-lane highway. You can now see the whole front of that car, including both headlights, in your inside rearview mirror. What is your next step?
A has passed B in the opposing lane of a two-lane road. B is behind A in the right lane.
Correct answer: Signal right, move back into the right lane, and then resume your speed.
Why
A pass on a two-lane road is safe only while the lane ahead stays clear, so keep your time in the left lane short. Nebraska law requires you to be safely clear of the passed vehicle before you move back to the right. You may not go over the posted speed limit at any time during the pass, so 'resume your speed' means your normal lawful speed.
