Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You drive on a two-lane road. The driver behind you signals and moves out to pass you. What should you do?
B has signaled and moved into the opposing lane to pass A. Both cars face the same way on the two-lane road.
Correct answer: Keep right in your lane, and do not speed up until the pass is done.
Why
A pass on a two-lane road puts the other driver in the path of oncoming traffic. If you speed up, the pass lasts longer and can end in a head-on crash. If the passing driver seems to be in trouble, easing off the gas can help that driver get back into the lane sooner.
