It is 10 a.m. on a highway. You drive into dense fog, and now you can see only about 300 feet ahead. What should you do about your lights?
Correct answer: Turn on your headlights, because they are required when you cannot see clearly 1,000 feet ahead.
Why
Fog cuts how far you can see and how well other drivers can see you, and headlights help with both problems. With the lights on, also slow down so that you can stop within the distance you can see, and leave more space to the vehicle ahead. Nevada law requires you to slow down for weather conditions, even when that means driving below the posted limit.
