Weather, Visibility & EmergenciesStandalone practice
On a clear evening, the sun sets at 7:00 p.m. You can still see well. From what time does Nevada law require your headlights to be on?
Correct answer: 7:30 p.m., a half hour after sunset
Why
In the morning, the time rule ends a half hour before sunrise. Headlights are also required at any time when poor light or weather keeps you from clearly seeing people and vehicles 1,000 feet ahead, and when a traffic sign tells you to use them. At dusk it is wise to turn them on early, because they help other road users see you.
