Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You want to park on a street that crosses railroad tracks. What is the closest you may park to the nearest rail?
Blue A approaches a curb parking area near a railroad crossing. The nearest rail is visible as a reference, with no selected parking point.
Correct answer: 50 feet from the nearest rail
Why
A car parked close to a crossing can hide an approaching train from other drivers and can block vehicles that must stop before the tracks. The same law also bans parking on a bridge, in a tunnel, within an intersection and in front of a driveway. Check signs and curb markings too, because they can add more limits.
