Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You are parallel parked on a busy street and want to pull out into the traffic lane. What must you do?
A is parallel parked in a marked curbside parking strip. B approaches from behind in the traffic lane beside the parking strip.
Correct answer: Signal, check your mirrors and blind spot, and pull out when a gap is safe.
Why
NRS 484B.410 says that a driver must not start a stopped, standing or parked vehicle until the movement can be made safely, and NRS 484B.413 requires a signal when other vehicles may be affected. The blind spot of a parked car often hides a cyclist or a car that is about to pass. The traffic in the lane has the right-of-way, so you wait for it.
