You are driving your 18-month-old daughter in a sedan that has a back seat. How must she ride?
Correct answer: Rear-facing in a child seat in back, because she is under 2.
Why
A rear-facing seat cradles a young child's head and protects the neck and spine in most crashes. The back seat keeps the child away from the passenger air bag, which opens with great force. Nevada law allows a rear-facing seat in the front only in rare cases, for example in a vehicle with no back seat, and then the passenger air bag must be turned off.
