Passing target: 80% (20/25)
You parallel park facing uphill on a street with a curb. How should you leave your front wheels?
Blue A faces uphill beside a right-hand curb. A side-profile inset identifies the rising grade.
Correct answer: Turned away from the curb, with the parking brake set.
Why
Uphill with a curb is the one case where the wheels turn away from the curb; the curb then blocks the back of the front tire. Uphill with no curb, turn the wheels toward the road shoulder, so that a rolling car moves off the road and not into traffic. NRS 484B.533 requires you to stop the engine, set the brake and turn the front wheels to the curb or side of the road on a grade.
