Observation, Speed & SpaceStandalone practice
You drive at 35 mph through a downtown business district. You have seen no speed limit sign since you entered it, and traffic is light. Are you within the speed limit?
Correct answer: No; with no sign posted, the limit in a business district is 30 mph.
Why
Business districts have parked cars, pedestrians, turning traffic and driveways, so the law sets a lower limit there. Signs can post a different limit, and you must drive slower when conditions call for it. A speed limit is the most you may drive in ideal conditions, not a target.
