Observation, Speed & SpaceStandalone practice
On a clear, dry day you drive at 35 mph on a highway where traffic moves at the posted 65 mph. There is no minimum-speed sign and no reason to go slowly, and a line of cars is forming behind you. Which statement is correct?
Correct answer: Your speed is illegal, because it blocks normal traffic with no safety need.
Why
Driving much slower than other traffic can be as dangerous as speeding, because vehicles bunch up behind you and drivers take risks to pass. If you must go slower than others, keep to the right-hand lane or side of the road. When several vehicles are lined up behind you, pull over where it is safe and let them go by. A lower speed is still correct when rain, snow, fog, heavy traffic or a steep grade calls for it.
