Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
You are first in the left-turn lane. The signal shows a red light and a green left arrow. A pedestrian is still crossing the street that you will turn into. What should you do?
Car A is first in the left-turn lane and faces a red circular light with a green left arrow. Pedestrian B remains in the crosswalk on the street A will enter.
Correct answer: Turn left after the pedestrian has cleared your path
Why
Unless a sign forbids it, a green left arrow also allows a U-turn. A yellow arrow means that the protection of the green arrow is ending, so be ready to stop if you have not started your turn. The same duty to yield applies when you turn on a steady green light.
