A truck in the roundabout blocks your view, and you drive past the exit that you wanted. What should you do?
A follows truck B in the circulating lane of an elongated roundabout. A has passed its intended exit at the bottom; white pavement arrows show counterclockwise traffic.
Correct answer: Keep going around the circle and take the exit when you reach it again
Why
Traffic in a roundabout moves in one direction at low speed, and every driver expects others to do the same. A missed exit is only a small delay, because the circle brings you back to it within seconds. Backing up, stopping or a wrong-way move surprises other drivers and bicyclists and can cause a crash. Choose your lane early and watch for your exit so that you are ready when you reach it.
