Traffic Signals & Road MarkingsStandalone practice
You are driving at 50 mph on a rural road with curves and pass this sign. You cannot yet see the intersection ahead. What should you do?

Correct answer: Slow down and be ready to stop, since the signal ahead may show red
Why
New York law requires a reduced speed when you approach an intersection or go around a curve, and a speed that suits the conditions at all times. Advance warning signs give you time to slow down before the hazard comes into view. This matters most on curves, over hills and at night, when the signal may appear late.
