Observation, Speed & SpaceStandalone practice
You drive on a two-lane state road in the countryside, outside any city or village. You have not passed a speed-limit sign for many miles, and the road is dry and clear. What is the highest speed that the law allows?
Correct answer: 55 mph
Why
55 mph is only the upper limit. The law also says you must never drive faster than is reasonable for the conditions, so in rain, fog or heavy traffic the safe speed is lower. Some cities and villages set lower limits, so watch for signs when you enter a built-up area.
