You need to back your car straight out of a long driveway. The handbook tells you how to hold the steering wheel and where to look. Which method is correct?
A faces left in a long, clear driveway and needs to back straight toward the street on the right. The question image shows the car and driveway but no driver posture or mirror choice.
Correct answer: Steer with your left hand and look over your right shoulder through the rear window.
Why
Before you get into the car, walk around it and look behind it for small children, pets or objects, because you cannot see low objects from the driver's seat. Then turn your body and keep looking through the rear window while the car moves backward. A direct view shows the path of the car better than mirrors, which leave blind areas near the rear bumper.
