Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
Your turn signals have stopped working, so you use hand signals. You put your left arm out of the window and bend it upward at the elbow. What does this signal tell other drivers?
A close view shows the back of a left hand held upright, with the elbow bent and the upper arm extending sideways from a blue sleeve.
Correct answer: You plan to turn right.
Why
All hand signals are given from the driver's side, so the right turn uses a bent-up left arm. Give a turn signal continuously for the last 100 feet before the turn. Bicyclists and motorcyclists also use these signals, so you must know them to predict what riders will do.
