Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You are on a one-way street at a steady red light. You want to turn left onto another one-way street whose traffic moves to the left. No sign prohibits the turn. What may you do?
A approaches a red light where its one-way street meets another one-way street carrying traffic to the left. Road arrows show both directions, and the card says that no sign prohibits A’s planned left turn.
Correct answer: Stop fully, yield to pedestrians and traffic, then turn left when it is safe.
Why
The rule is the same as a right turn on red: a full stop, then a yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk and to traffic in the intersection. Cross traffic usually has a green light, so wait for a real gap. Look for NO TURN ON RED signs, which cancel the permission.
