Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a two-lane road, the center line is a pair of yellow lines. The line next to your lane is solid, and the line next to the oncoming lane is broken. You want to pass a slow car. What does this marking mean?
A follows B on a two-lane road. The yellow line beside their lane is solid; the parallel line beside the empty opposing lane is broken.
Correct answer: You may not pass here, but oncoming drivers may pass when their way is clear.
Why
Before any pass, ask yourself if you are in or near a no-passing zone and if you can see the road ahead clearly. You may cross the solid line on your side only to turn left. When the broken line is on your side, pass only if you can be back in your lane before you come within 200 feet of an oncoming vehicle.
