You are in a lane where you may turn left or go straight. The signal shows a green arrow that points left, and the circular light beside it is red. What may you do?
A waits in a lane that allows a left turn or straight travel. The facing signal shows a green left arrow beside a red circular light, and pedestrian B is finishing the receiving-street crossing.
Correct answer: Turn left as the arrow shows, and yield to anyone still in the intersection.
Why
A green arrow usually means that the oncoming traffic has a red light, so your turn is protected from it. Traffic that goes straight must wait for its own green light. Before you turn, make sure that no pedestrian is still in the crosswalk and no vehicle is still in the intersection.
