Passing target: 75% (30/40)
You drive in the left lane of a freeway that has three lanes in your direction. You see that your exit on the right is only 300 feet ahead, and the other two lanes are full of traffic. What should you do?
A travels in the leftmost of three freeway lanes. Cars occupy both lanes between A and a right-hand exit; the card states that the exit is only 300 feet ahead.
Correct answer: Stay in your lane, go on to the next exit, and find your way back from there
Why
Know where your exit is, and move to the lane nearest it early, so that you do not need a quick lane change. The manual says that the openings in a freeway median are only for emergency and public safety vehicles, so do not use them to turn around. A missed exit costs a few minutes, but a last-second move can cause a crash with several vehicles.
