Passing target: 75% (30/40)
You approach an intersection with no signs or signals. A pickup truck approaches on the street to your right, and you will both arrive at about the same time. Both of you plan to go straight. Who must yield?
A approaches southbound from the top of an uncontrolled crossroads. Silver pickup B approaches eastbound from A’s right; the card says they arrive at about the same time and both plan to go straight.
Correct answer: You yield, because the truck is on your right.
Why
Ohio law says that when two vehicles from different streets arrive at an intersection at about the same time, the driver on the left yields to the driver on the right (ORC 4511.41). If one driver clearly arrives first, that driver goes first. Slow down at every intersection with no signs or signals, and be ready to stop if the other driver does not yield.
