Passing target: 75% (30/40)
You want to turn left at a steady green light. There is no green arrow. An oncoming car is close to the intersection and is going straight. What must you do?
A approaches a crossroads eastbound and plans to turn left. Its signal detail shows a steady green circle with no arrow; silver car B approaches from the opposite direction and is going straight.
Correct answer: Turn after the oncoming car goes through, when there is a safe gap.
Why
A green circular light allows a left turn, but it does not give you the right-of-way (ORC 4511.13 and 4511.42). If traffic is heavy, the Ohio manual says to pull the front of your car slightly past the stop line and wait there, then turn as soon as there is a safe gap. Also yield to pedestrians who cross the street that you turn onto.
