If your vehicle starts to skid on black ice, how should you respond?
Blue A is on an icy two-way curve. A white motion arrow beside the rear shows the start of a sideways slide. No correction is selected.
Correct answer: Ease off the gas and steer where you want to go.
Why
To recover from a skid, do not brake. Take your foot off the accelerator and steer gently in the direction you want the vehicle to travel (steer into the skid).
