On a highway posted 55 mph, a black-and-white digital sign reads SPEED LIMIT 45 and LOW VISIBILITY. What is the legal maximum speed at that place?

Correct answer: 45 mph, the speed now shown on the sign
Why
Some Oregon highways use digital signs that lower the speed limit when traffic, weather or visibility requires it, and they may also show the reason. Slower speeds near heavy traffic, sharp curves, steep hills or work zones give you more time to stop and a larger space cushion. The basic rule still applies, so drive slower than 45 mph if conditions require it.
