Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
You drive at 45 mph and plan to turn right onto a side road ahead. What is the minimum distance before the turn for which your turn signal must be on?
Correct answer: The last 300 feet before the turn.
Why
Below 35 mph, the minimum is 100 feet; above 35 mph, it is 300 feet. A signal tells other road users what you plan to do, but it does not give you the right to turn. Turn the signal off after the turn, and use hand signals if your signal lamps do not work.
