At noon, a light rain starts, and you set your wipers to the intermittent setting. Your car has automatic daytime running lights. What does Pennsylvania law require?
Blue A drives on a rainy road in daylight. The card states that it is noon, the wipers run intermittently and automatic daytime running lights are on; an enlarged light detail shows the same blue car without selected lamps.
Correct answer: Turn on your headlights so that your taillights are also lit.
Why
Pennsylvania's headlight and wiper law helps other drivers see you in rain, snow and mist, from the front and from behind. Headlights are also required from sunset to sunrise and when you cannot see people or vehicles 1,000 feet away. An easy habit: each time you turn on the wipers for the weather, turn on the headlights too.
