Passing target: 80% (32/40)
You are behind a slower car on a two-way road with one lane in each direction. Before moving left to pass, what must you establish?
Correct answer: That passing is lawful and the way is clear far enough to complete it
Why
Check the signs, lane markings, road layout and traffic before moving left. The left side must be free of both oncoming and overtaking traffic, with a clear view far enough ahead to complete the whole pass safely without interfering with anyone. Signal before passing and before returning right, and return only when safely clear of the other vehicle. Stay within the speed limit. If the full safe opportunity is not clear, remain behind.
