Passing target: 75% in each of the three areas
You want to turn left across the path of an oncoming vehicle going straight. No signal gives your turn a separate protected phase. What must you do?
Blue car A approaches a four-arm intersection from the left. Silver car B approaches from the opposite direction.
Correct answer: Yield to the oncoming vehicle and turn only when the path is safe.
Why
Before an unprotected left turn, yield to oncoming vehicles. Also check for pedestrians and cyclists crossing or travelling along the road you will enter. Signal your intention, remain in the proper position and turn only when the whole path is safe. A green light or a turn signal alone does not remove these yielding duties.
