Turns, Lanes, Passing & MergingStandalone practice
One lane ends at a work-zone taper. What cooperative merging method does Québec's road guidance recommend?
Correct answer: Slow down, continue to the merge point, then take turns
Why
Québec recommends a late, alternating merge when a lane ends or closes for roadwork. Reduce speed, continue to the merge point and take turns joining the lane that remains open. Drivers in the open lane should leave enough space for one vehicle to join and should not block the ending lane. Follow the actual traffic controls and merge only when it can be done safely.
