At a two-way stop, you stop fully at the stop line. The cross street has no stop sign, and a car on it is close to the intersection. What should you do next?
A is stopped behind a white stop line at a STOP sign. The opposite approach also has a stop control, viewed from behind. Silver B approaches on the uncontrolled cross street close to the intersection.
Correct answer: Stay stopped until the car passes, then go when it is safe.
Why
A stop sign means a full stop and then a yield. The manual says to stop for at least three seconds and to look left, right, ahead and left again before you go. Enter the intersection only when cross traffic and pedestrians are clear, and do not guess what another driver will do.
