Parking, Reversing & Roadside StopsStandalone practice
You are about to reverse. The mirrors and camera appear clear. What should you do before the car moves?
Correct answer: Check behind and around the car for children, pets and low objects.
Why
Check the area behind and around the vehicle before backing. Children, pets, bicycles and other low objects may be hidden from the driver's seat. Cameras, mirrors and sensors help, but none replaces checking the surroundings and confirming a clear path. Then back slowly, keep looking in the direction of travel and continue checking all relevant directions as the situation changes.
