Passing target: 20 correct signs and 20 correct rules
In SGI's forward angle-parking method, when should you begin steering right into the chosen stall?
Blue car A approaches an empty angle-parking stall on its right, between two parked silver cars.
Correct answer: When your front end is even with the rear of the stall you will enter.
Why
Signal, slow down and check approaching traffic before entering an angle-parking stall. SGI's method begins the right steering input when the front of your vehicle is even with the rear of your chosen stall. Move slowly toward the centre and keep enough clearance from vehicles on both sides. Once centred, straighten the wheels and continue fully into the stall. When leaving later, check behind and to both sides before backing out.
