Licensing & Test ReadinessStandalone practice
You hold only a South Carolina Class D driver's license. Which of these vehicles may you drive?
Correct answer: A pickup truck with a weight rating of 8,500 pounds
Why
South Carolina sets the license class by the type and weight of the vehicle. Class D is the usual license for cars, pickup trucks and SUVs, and it also lets you drive a moped or a three-wheel vehicle. Heavier non-commercial vehicles need Class E or F, a two-wheel motorcycle needs Class M, and commercial vehicles need Class A, B or C.
