You have stopped at a stop sign and want to cross a two-way street. In what order does the manual tell you to look before you enter the intersection?
A faces north and is stopped before a clear STOP line on the south approach to a two-way street. An exact STOP sign is beside A. Both crossing lanes are empty; no scan order, path or permission to enter is shown.
Correct answer: Left, then right, then left again.
Why
After a stop, take extra time to check for crossing traffic and bicyclists, and make sure the gap is large enough to cross, or to turn and reach a safe speed. When a signal turns green, do not rush in; first make sure no one is still crossing. Do not count on other drivers to obey signs or signals.
