Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a two-lane road with a broken yellow center line, you pass a slow truck. The way ahead is clear. On which side do you pass, and when may you return to your lane?
A follows a slow truck B on a two-lane road with a broken yellow center line and a paved shoulder on the right. The card says the way ahead is clear; no passing side or mirror cue is selected.
Correct answer: On the left, and return when you see the whole front of the truck in your rearview mirror.
Why
A pass puts you in the lane of oncoming traffic, so plan the whole move before you start: check for oncoming traffic, check your mirrors and blind spot, and signal 100 feet or more before you pull out. A truck is long and needs extra room to stop, so give it a generous space when you move back in front of it. Before you return, signal again, look over your shoulder, and steer back smoothly.
