Passing target: 80% (24/30)
On a rural road, you come to a one-lane bridge. An oncoming pickup truck reaches the other end of the bridge just before you reach your end. What should you do?
Blue A and silver pickup B approach opposite ends of a one-lane bridge. Both are outside the span; the card says pickup B reached its end just before A.
Correct answer: Wait at your end and let the truck cross first, because it reached the bridge first.
Why
Watch for warning signs about narrow or one-lane bridges, and slow down so that you can stop before the bridge if necessary. Open steel gratings on some bridges reduce traction, so keep a firm grip and a lower speed. Many rural roads also have ditches or drop-offs instead of shoulders.
