Passing target: 80% (24/30)
You and a pickup truck stop at a four-way stop at the same moment. The truck is on the road to your left, and both of you plan to go straight. What should happen?
A faces north at a four-way stop. Silver pickup B faces east on the road to A’s left. Both are behind their stop lines, and the card says they stopped together and plan to go straight.
Correct answer: You go first after you see the truck wait, because the driver on the left yields.
Why
This rule settles a tie when two drivers stop at about the same time on different roads. The driver who has a vehicle on the right yields; the driver with no vehicle on the right may go. The manual warns that no one should assume the right-of-way, so wait a moment to see that the other driver is yielding before you enter.
