You are stopped at a red light in the right lane. A tractor-trailer ahead of you moves toward the left with its right turn signal on. It leaves a gap between the truck and the curb. What should you do?
A is stopped in the right of two eastbound lanes at a steady red light. Tractor-trailer B ahead has moved left across part of the next lane while its right signal is on, as stated on the card. A wide space remains between the truck and the right curb. The B label is directly above the truck. No future turn path is shown.
Correct answer: Stay behind the truck and wait until it has completed its right turn.
Why
Trucks have a large blind spot on the right side, so the driver may not see a car next to the trailer. Watch the turn signals of large vehicles and give them plenty of room to maneuver. Also stop behind the stop line at intersections, because the line leaves space for large vehicles to turn.
