You park facing uphill next to a curb on the right side of the street. Your car has an automatic transmission. After you set the parking brake, how should you turn the front wheels?
A faces uphill beside a curb on its right, with an inset that identifies the uphill slope. No selected steering direction appears in the question.
Correct answer: Sharply to the left, away from the curb
Why
The wheel rule depends on two things: the slope and the curb. Uphill with a curb is the only case where you turn the wheels to the left; downhill, or uphill with no curb, you turn them to the right. With a manual transmission facing uphill, the manual says to use the lowest gear. In every case, set the parking brake.
