At an all-way stop, a car on your left comes to a stop a few seconds before you do. You both plan to go straight. Who should go first?
Northbound A and eastbound B have stopped at an all-way stop with equal-width streets. The card states that B on A’s left stopped first.
Correct answer: The car on your left, because it stopped first
Why
At an ALL WAY or four-way stop, every driver comes to a full stop, and the first vehicle to stop is the first to go. The yield-to-the-right rule only breaks a tie when vehicles stop at the same time. Even when it is your turn, look again before you go, because some drivers roll through a stop sign.
